 Richard Rodseth

Jazz Piano, Beginning Piano

Music Technology

After a long career in software development, Richard resumed music studies through Berklee College of Music Online, completing a Professional Certificate in Music Theory and Composition in 2019. He followed that up with additional courses in Orchestration and Counterpoint.

The son of a piano and voice teacher in Pretoria (still active in her 90s!), Richard had Classical piano lessons as a child, then studied Jazz privately as an adult. In addition to basic keyboard skills and music literacy, he loves introducing students of all backgrounds to the joys of composition and improvisation.

Richard also enjoys music technology in many forms, including modular synthesis, MIDI and digital audio production.
